Ever since I was young I have thought about music in a “dramatic” way. When I heard a song that really moved me I would often create a kind of music video in my head with that song playing over top of it. The characters in these fantasies were sometimes real, and sometimes imagined, but their worlds were always enhanced by the music colouring them. With my composition and sound designer work, I very simply carry that idea forward. I learn the story being told, and then I imagine what would best support and enhance what is being seen by an audience. That is my lodestar.
